Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Technician/Programmer to join our automotive manufacturing team. This role is responsible for programming, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machining equipment to produce high‑quality components that meet strict automotive specifications. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, mechanically inclined, and experienced with CAD/CAM systems and G‑code programming. Key Responsibilities Develop, edit, and optimize CNC lathe programs Set up CNC lathes, and other machining centers—including tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets. Validate new programs through dry runs and first‑article inspections. Continuously improve programs to reduce cycle time and enhance tool life. Operate CNC equipment to produce precision automotive components according to production schedules. Interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications. Monitor machining operations to ensure consistent quality and dimensional accuracy. Perform in‑process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, or other metrology tools. Qualifications Required 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a production environment. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions. Proficiency in CNC programming (G‑code) and CAM systems (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, Esprit). Experience with CNC lathes. Understanding of tooling, feeds/speeds, materials (steel, aluminum, castings, etc.). Preferred Automotive or high‑precision manufacturing experience. Familiarity with IATF 16949 or
ISO 9001
standards.
