Job Description

CNC Machinist Job Description Job OverviewCreative Composites has an opening for a full-time CNC machine operator for a person with excellent hands-on mechanical ability and a familiarity with online & off-line CNC programming. Dependability, adaptability, professionalism, and good work ethic are a must. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating CNC machinery, interpreting blueprints, and utilizing various tools and techniques to produce high-quality components. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency in the workplace. Responsibilities Position will include operating CNC VMCs, CNC Turning Center, 5-axis waterjet & 5-axis router to create parts made out of Aluminum, steel, carbon fiber, Kevlar, fiberglass, and other materials. Person will be responsible for assistance with tooling design, tooling fabrication, process development and part manufacturing, etc. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements. Set up tooling and fixtures for machining processes. Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for quality control and inspection of finished products. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision in machining. Working knowledge of G-code, M-code online programming (conversational or otherwise) is required as well as ability to set up equipment and tooling, fabricate and set up fixturing, perform in-process quality checks, etc. Maintenance and general troubleshooting of machines and equipment is also a desired (not required) skill. Maintain equipment by performing regular inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machining processes using Lean Manufacturing principles. Must be capable of navigating a PC in a Windows-based environment. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Requirements Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical documentation. Familiarity with tooling setup and operation of CNC equipment. Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for quality assurance. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices. Ability to work with various power tools safely and effectively. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
