We are looking for candidates to fill our CNC Mill Operator/Programmer in the Die Shop at our Sterling Stamping facility. Their primary responsibility will be to operate and program CNC milling machines in accordance with company requirements and specifications. General duties will include the following:
- Set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines to machine stamping dies and all components along with repairs and changes to support the pressroom and production.
- Interpret and understand engineering blueprints, CAD drawings, and models to develop CNC programs using M&G code programming languages.
- Perform tool changes and machine adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal quality and performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct issues related to the machining process, including tool wear, and equipment malfunctions.
- Ensure that tolerances are met using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.
- Maintain machine tools, equipment, and workspace, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining process and achieve optimal efficiency and outcome.
United States Requirements Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 4 years of experience as a CNC operator / programmer in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Ability to work any shift and work overtime, including daily, weekends, and holidays as required, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in M & G code programming (FANUC Preferred, or similar).
- Ability to navigate and utilize CAD systems for creating and post processing 2D and 3D cutter path, (SMIRT, Work NC preferred).
- Skilled in using standard measurement tools and equipment.
