Job Description

Toolroom CNC Programmer and Prototype Machinist Are you the go-to problem solver on the shop floor? Do tight tolerances excite you? Can you jump from blueprint to CAD/CAM to finished tool without missing a beat? If you thrive in a collaborative toolroom and take pride in precision, this role is for you. Your mission Design, construct, refurbish, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, gauges, fixtures, extrusion dies, and calibrators Set up and operate
WEDM, CNC
milling centers, and manual machines for one-off and short-run work Program CNC machines with CAD/CAM software; validate programs and make on-the-fly adjustments Read and interpret blueprints/specifications to achieve tight tolerance outcomes Verify quality using calipers, micrometers, and depth micrometers Deliver accurate tooling on schedule Keep the toolroom orderly, safe, and audit-ready Follow and champion the Quality Management System (QMS) Engage in safety training and continuous skill development Support and mentor developing shop teammates Model a positive culture and pursue continuous improvement Contribute wherever needed to help the team succeed Must-haves Technical College education in Machine/Tool Processes or directly comparable hands-on experience Mechanical aptitude paired with resourceful problem-solving Blueprint literacy and strong precision measurement skills Practical experience with machining equipment Consistent attendance and dependable work ethic Nice-to-haves 4+ years as a Toolmaker or Machinist CAD/CAM programming proficiency Basic computer competency Strong math skills and organized work habits Physical capabilities Lift up to 30 lbs regularly; occasionally up to 60 lbs with assistance Comfort standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and carrying during 8-12 hour shifts Willingness to support a 24-hour / 5-day-per-week manufacturing operation Why you will thrive here A hands-on role where your craftsmanship is seen and appreciated Supportive, team-based culture in a well-kept toolroom Opportunities to learn, grow, and drive continuous improvement Commitment to safety, quality, and pride in the work Technical strengths Troubleshooting Skills G-Code M-Code CNC Machine Setup & Changeover Precision Measurement & Hand Metrology Manual Machining Skills Tool/Die/Mold Repair Skills Tool/Die/Mold Setup Experience Blueprint Reading Machines & technologies CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) Manual Vertical Mill (Bridgeport)
