CNC Machinist / Programmer

Job description: SUMMARY Volumetric Technologies is a growing manufacturer of custom filling machinery. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machinist to join our team in Red Wing, MN . We offer a friendly working environment, competitive salary plus a full range of benefits . Successful candidate will be responsible for performing job assignments on manual and/or CNC machines. Manual machine operations include set-up and tool selection of conventional lathes, mills, drill presses and other standard shop equipment. CNC machine operations include programming, set-up and tool selection on lathes or mills. The position requires communication with co-workers and ability to maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up, Program and run parts from start to finish. Fabricate replacement and new parts for facility machinery. Performs frequent and complex CNC/ mill and lathe setup/operations to produce quality parts based on provided specifications. Program and edit CNC programs using cam software. Both Manual and Programming machining Experience Performs routine dimensional and visual inspection of products, using basic measuring equipment (calipers, micrometer, scale, indicators. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery. Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery. Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide on-the-job training to new employees. Maintains safety practices related to machining; (wear protective clothing, eye glasses, as required).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or advanced degree. Experience using one or more of the following tools: lathe, milling machine, drill press, and vertical/horizontal cut off saw. Ambitious and works at a quick pace, but with diligence and attention to detail. Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Excellent communication skills Proficient programing CNC machines using CAM software Proficient at reading, comprehending, and interpreting 2D Drawings Mechanical aptitude or ability to learn about our products, retain and apply the information. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Ability to work with other team members, highly flexible, "Get it Done" attitude. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. •3 years machining Experience required •Knowledge with Fusion 360 an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Facility is heated during the winter and air conditioned during the summer. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors and work boots. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.

Pay:

$29.41 - $40.00 per hour
