Job Title:
Machinist Programmer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machinist Programmer to join our team in Raytown, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to produce precision metal components. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and experience with CNC mills and lathes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Machinist Programmer will ensure all parts meet specifications, quality standards, and production timelines. Responsibilities Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAM software and machine controls. Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, offsets, and fixturing. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and job specifications. Optimize programs for speed, accuracy, and tool life. Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment. Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain quality. Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks. Maintain production efficiency and meet daily part quotas. Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other precision tools. Ensure all machined components meet dimensional and surface-finish standards. Identify defects or deviations and adjust processes as needed. Perform basic machine maintenance, tool changes, and cleaning. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Report equipment issues and assist with troubleshooting mechanical problems. Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and production staff. Document program revisions, tooling changes, and production notes. Contribute to process improvements to increase accuracy and reduce downtime. Essential Skills 3+ years of CNC machining and programming experience (mills and/or lathes). Strong knowledge of G-code, CAM systems, and CNC controls. Ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation. Proficiency with precision measuring tools. Experience with metals such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong mathematical and mechanical aptitude. High attention to detail and ability to work independently. Work Environment Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a schedule from Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 4:40 PM. The role involves standing for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean workspace are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.
