CNC Programmer Nashua, NH Full-TimeOn-Site$29 - $40 /hr Posted May 20, 2026 CNC Programmer Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop, optimize, and document CNC programs for precision machining operations. The CNC Programmer will translate engineering drawings and customer specifications into reliable CNC code, set up and verify tooling and fixtures, and collaborate with machinists and engineers to ensure parts meet tolerance and quality standards. This role requires hands-on knowledge of machining processes, proficiency with CAM software and Haas controls, and strong blueprint-reading and measurement skills. Key Responsibilities Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for milling and turning operations using CAM software and manual code where necessary. Translate engineering drawings and tolerance specifications into accurate machining strategies and tooling plans. Set up CNC machines, fixtures, and tooling; verify program accuracy through dry-runs and first-piece inspection. Work directly with machinists to troubleshoot programs, refine feeds and speeds, and resolve production issues. Perform precision measurement and first-article inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other metrology tools. Develop and maintain tooling lists, setup sheets, and process documentation to support repeatable production. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve part quality. Support manual machining and secondary operations (grinding, lathe operation, fabrication) as needed to complete assemblies. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, especially for aerospace projects. Qualifications Associate degree or certificate in Machining Technology, Manufacturing, or equivalent; or 3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer/Operator. Proven experience programming and operating CNC mills and lathes, including Haas mills and similar controls. Strong manual machining skills and experience with lathe operation, milling, grinding, and fabrication. Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, tolerance specifications, and precision measurement techniques. Familiarity with tooling selection, setup, and machining processes for both prototype and production environments. Experience in aerospace or highly regulated industries is highly desirable. Working knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar) and conversational/CNC code. Ability to perform machine setup, run-off first parts, and perform in-process adjustments to meet quality standards. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
