Full Job Description Equipment:
Haas Mini Mill / Fusion 360
The Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled individual who can take a project from a rough concept to a finished metal part. You won't just be pushing buttons; you will be responsible for the entire workflow: designing the part in Fusion 360 , programming the toolpaths (CAM), setting up the Haas Mini Mill , and executing the run.
Key Responsibilities:
Design:
Create or refine 3D models in Fusion 360 with an eye for "Design for Manufacturing" (DFM).
CAM Programming:
Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds; create efficient 2D and 3D toolpaths.
Machine Setup:
Set work offsets (G54−G59), load tools, measure tool height offsets, and square the vise/fixtures.
Production:
Run the Haas Mini Mill, monitor tool wear, and perform basic maintenance.
Quality Control:
Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet tolerances.
Requirements:
Proven experience with Fusion 360 (CAD and CAM environments). Hands-on experience operating Haas CNC machines (Next Generation Control preferred). Deep understanding of G-code, tooling (carbide vs. HSS), and workholding strategies. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot machining issues on the fly.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour Application Question(s): Walk me through your process for setting up a fresh job on a Haas Mini Mill. In Fusion 360, what is the difference between a 'Lead-in' and a 'Link'? How do you determine the Speeds and Feeds for a material you haven't cut before? If you see the tool 'chattering' or vibrating during a cut, what are the first three things you adjust? What G-code command do you use for a Tool Change, and which one cancels Tool Length Compensation?
