Direct Hire Beyond TalentEdge is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer for a direct hire opportunity. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing machining processes from engineering drawings through full production. The CNC Programmer will plan machining strategies, specify tooling and fixturing, generate machine programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the life cycle of each program. Key Responsibilities Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to develop cost-effective, efficient, and high-quality machining processes Plan machining operations, including tooling selection and fixturing design Generate and maintain NC programs using CAM software (Mill/Turn Lathes and/or Horizontal Mills) Develop setup documentation including setup sheets, drawing markups, and process notes Review and improve existing machining processes; incorporate drawing revisions and lessons learned Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to resolve manufacturability challenges Design and specify work-holding and fixturing solutions; oversee fabrication as needed Work closely with Machinists and Inspectors to implement and continuously improve processes Maintain program documentation and ensure data integrity compliance Support routing development, cost estimating, capital equipment evaluations, and new product development Participate in Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, including Single Piece Flow and Value Stream improvements Assist in training and development of team members Contribute to department and business goals in alignment with company objectives Required Qualifications Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach Ability to thrive in fast-paced manufacturing environments Experience programming complex CNC Lathes, including live tooling Proven ability to select, evaluate, and specify cutting tools for production machining Experience designing or selecting work-holding and fixturing Proficient in CAD/CAM software (Esprit preferred; other platforms considered) Solid understanding of GD&T and metrology practices Experience working in Lean / Six Sigma manufacturing environments Willingness to work overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Project implementation experience at shop or group level Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and DMAIC methodology Experience with process estimation and ROI analysis Background in gear and shaft manufacturing Experience with robotics and production automation
