This role is responsible for converting customer-supplied CAD models and drawings into accurate manufacturing programs for laser cutting and forming operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic CAD/SolidWorks experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and hands-on manufacturing or shop experience who is looking to grow their career in fabrication programming. Candidates with direct experience in sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, nesting, or CNC fabrication programming are also encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Create and program sheet metal parts and assemblies for production Convert customer models and drawings into flat patterns for CNC laser cutting Program laser cutting equipment and support fabrication operations Nest parts on sheets/blanks to maximize material usage and production efficiency Prepare job travelers and manufacturing documentation Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical information Support production, forming, welding, and fabrication processes as needed Learn and work within fabrication programming software and systems First shift schedule: Monday-Thursday, 5:30 am - 4:30 pm (includes breaks), with Friday overtime when needed. Qualifications 1+ years of CAD experience preferred (SolidWorks preferred, other CAD software considered) Strong mechanical aptitude required Hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, shop, or mechanical experience preferred Experience with sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, nesting, or fabrication programming is a plus Experience with TruTops Boost or similar programming software is preferred but not required Ability to read technical drawings and understand manufacturing processes Detail-oriented with strong computer skills and willingness to learn new software and systems Preferred Backgrounds - We are open to candidates with backgrounds such as: Junior CAD Programmer or CAD Technician Sheet Metal or Fabrication Shop Experience Laser Operator or CNC Fabrication Experience Manufacturing Technology or Trade School Graduates Mechanically inclined individuals with CAD experience looking to grow into programming and fabrication support roles
