Job Description

Header Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs that drive precision machining operations. Your expertise will ensure that complex parts are produced efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes while utilizing advanced CAD/CAM software and technical skills. The ideal candidate is passionate about machining technology, possesses strong mechanical knowledge, and thrives in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous improvement. Responsibilities Create programs for Makino Horizontal CNC from prints or solid models using Top Solid CAD/CAM software. Review initial code for concerns and assist in program prove-out. Identify and source needed tools, then work with German colleagues to update TDM database with all new tools. Create and maintain manufacturing setup work instructions such that clear and complete production steps are documented. Be aware of production KPIs and contribute to developing improvement proposals to ensure operations meets plant productivity, delivery, quality, and cost targets. Design and arrange for fabrication of manufacturing fixturing. Participate in the selection process for new equipment by evaluating future manufacturing opportunities against current capabilities and long-term strategy. Work with HAWE NA design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products. Interface with the Industrial Engineering and Programming department from our parent company to drive consistencies in manufacturing processes. Support operations by executing SAP transactions as needed. Perform 5S activities in the plant to maintain an organized and visually clear area. Contribute to the plant Continuous Improvement Process by identifying and eliminating waste using Lean tools. Promote plant Safety Focus by identifying safety concerns, eliminating potential injury risks, and demonstrating proper PPE usage. Assist other operations team members to fulfill customer needs as necessary. As a self-motivated individual, contribute to an inclusive, energetic, hard-working / hands-on company environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience generating G-Code programs from CAD/CAM software. Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with mathematics (whole numbers, fractions, decimals, linear & angular measure, formulas, coordinate systems, imperial and metric units). Ability to interact with employees, vendors, and customers in a highly professional manner. Time management, punctuality, and reliability. Strong computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office platform. Ability to read and interpret dimensional drawings with GD&T callouts and schematics. Ability to work alone with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally on infrequent basis. Ability to work at heights and/or in confined spaces. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to work evening or weekend on rare occasions.
Preferred Attributes:
3 years of experience or more in a manufacturing environment. GD&T training. Experience setting up, operating, and proving out parts on a horizontal CNC machine at a manufacturing company. Experience with programming CNC machines Experience with Makino horizontal CNC with Pro6 control software. Experience with a honing process. Experience with TopSolid CAD/CAM software. Experience with Microsoft Teams.
Pay:
$28.00 - $33.00 per hour
