CNC Programmer and Machinist West Chester, PA 19382 Full-time Full-time Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a CNC Programmer and Machinist, where your expertise will drive precision, efficiency, and innovation in our machining operations. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality components that meet strict specifications. Your mechanical knowledge and mastery of machining tools will ensure seamless production processes, supporting our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software such as Mastercam or SolidWorks CAM to ensure accurate and efficient machining processes. Interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, utilizing GD&T principles to achieve precise measurements and tolerances. Set up CNC milling machines and lathes, including installing tooling, calibrating machines, and verifying machine readiness with precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). Operate CNC equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols and manufacturing standards. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to minimize downtime and maximize productivity. Implement lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall process efficiency. Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software such as AutoCAD or CATIA to review designs and suggest manufacturability improvements. Requirements Proven experience programming and operating CNC milling machines and CNC lathes with proficiency in Fanuc controls or similar systems. Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in CAD/CAM software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA for designing parts and creating machining programs. Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, geometry calculations, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and precision measurement instruments. Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices to enhance operational efficiency. Ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams related to machinery operation. Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances necessary for precision machining.
