In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing computer numerical control (CNC) programs that drive precision machining operations. Your expertise will ensure that complex parts are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing processes by leveraging advanced programming skills and mechanical knowledge. Responsibilities Develop and write CNC programs for various machining equipment, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, utilizing CAM programming software. Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise manufacturing. Set up and operate CNC machinery, including turning, milling, and CNC plasma operations, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software such as SolidWorks, MasterCam, and Columbus to review designs and translate them into machine instructions. Conduct toolpath verification and simulation to prevent errors before production runs. Perform precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy. Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs as needed, and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Requirements Proven experience in CNC programming for both milling machines and lathes with a solid understanding of CNC controls such as Fanuc or similar systems. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, and related tools for designing and programming parts. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings. Familiarity with machining processes such as CNC milling, CNC lathe operations, tooling selection, geometry calculations, and plasma cutting operations. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges accurately. Mechanical knowledge of tooling setups, schematics interpretation, and manufacturing workflows. Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and enhance productivity. Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and geometric relationships essential for high-quality machining.
