In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement in machining processes, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to safety standards and production schedules. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing technologies and contribute to innovative projects that demand precision and technical excellence. Responsibilities Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Mastercam or similar tools, ensuring alignment with engineering drawings and specifications. Set up CNC machines including lathes, milling machines, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and calibration for each job. Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining processes. Conduct precise measurements using tools such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions. Troubleshoot machining issues promptly by analyzing tooling conditions, machine parameters, and part quality; implement corrective actions to maintain optimal performance. Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software like SolidWorks or CATIA to review designs and suggest manufacturability improvements. Maintain detailed documentation of setup procedures, machine calibrations, tooling configurations, and process adjustments to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Skills Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code for various CNC machines including lathe and milling machines. Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and automation systems used in modern manufacturing environments. Experience with CAD/CAM software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar platforms for designing parts and generating toolpaths. Deep understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, GD&T principles, and geometric tolerancing standards. Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, fixture design, and machining processes to optimize efficiency. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to promote waste reduction and process optimization. Ability to interpret schematics related to electrical discharge machining (EDM) setups and electrical schematics for troubleshooting purposes. Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), micrometers, and bore gauges for quality assurance. Strong math skills including geometry calculations essential for precise machining operations. Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards and best practices for operating CNC equipment safely.
