Job Description

Job Title:
CNC Machinist/Programmer Job Description The position of CNC Machinist/Programmer involves fabricating parts and assemblies from raw materials to finished products in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work environment. This role is primarily an off-machine programmer position, working closely with engineers to conduct simulations and proofs of runs, as well as programming new runs into machines. The successful candidate will use Mastercam for all programming tasks and engage with customers and vendors to provide estimates on quoted turnaround, run times, and material acquisition, ensuring the proper materials are used for jobs. Responsibilities Design new runs from engineer drawings and concepts. Run simulations, determine cut paths, and prove out runs for new parts. Set up, program, and operate multi-axis CNC machines efficiently, ensuring the highest quality and precision standards. Perform setup changes and first article inspections utilizing CNC machines. Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerance, and tooling requirements. Measure and inspect parts using height gauge, calipers, micrometers, CMM, or other measuring instruments to ensure conformity throughout the manufacturing process. Remove burrs and sharp edges from parts and assemble parts using conventional and non-conventional hardware and tools. Monitor and adjust or replace tooling when necessary. Document actions taken on manufacturing orders and keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly. Perform basic preventive maintenance functions on equipment and make minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines. Maintain a professional and personable relationship with all employees, customers, and vendors. Adhere to all company policies, safety guidelines, and code of ethical conduct. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Skills 7+ years of CNC Mill & Lathe Programming experience. Proficiency in Mastercam programming. Familiarity with Mazatrol conversational programming. Experience with both Haas and Mazak machines. Ability to work with 3, 4, and 5-axis machines. Capability to perform full cycle programming from concept to completed part. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in machining and understanding the physical characteristics of differing materials such as Inconel, Titanium, various series of Steel, Coppers, and Brass. Work Environment This position offers a choice between day and second shifts, with the first shift running from 6am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and the second shift from roughly 3pm to 1:30am, Monday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
