Job Description

CNC Machinist / Programmer Precision work. Real ownership. Zero micromanagement. The Work We need someone who can walk up to a machine, read a print, write the program, set the tools, run the part, and inspect it — without someone looking over their shoulder every five minutes. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in holding tight tolerances, writing clean G-code, and keeping a shop running efficiently. You'll program, set up, and operate multi-axis CNC mills and/or lathes, working from engineering drawings and GD&T specifications to produce parts that are right the first time. You won't be babysat. You won't be buried in meetings. You'll be trusted to do the work the way it should be done — because you already know how. What You'll Do Program parts from prints using Mastercam software Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis CNC mills and/or CNC lathes Select tooling, establish work holding, and optimize feeds and speeds for quality and cycle time Interpret GD&T and use precision measurement instruments (CMM experience is a plus) Troubleshoot toolpath issues, adjust offsets, and make in-process corrections Maintain organized, efficient workstations and follow established quality procedures Document proven programs and setups so they can be repeated reliably Who This Role Is For This isn't a button-pushing job. We're looking for someone who: Has 5+ years of CNC machining experience with direct programming responsibilities Thinks in thousandths and can spot a bad finish before picking up a mic Writes programs that are clean, well-commented, and built to run again Works best when given a goal, the tools to get there, and the space to execute Prefers doing the work over talking about it Keeps their area, their tools, and their processes organized and repeatable Holds themselves to a higher standard than anyone else would hold them to What We Offer A shop that values skill, accuracy, and quiet competence over politics and noise Stable, consistent work with variety in the parts you'll run The autonomy to manage your own setups and programming decisions Modern equipment that's properly maintained Competitive pay commensurate with your ability — we pay for precision, not just presence Benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan Nice to Have Experience with multiple control platforms (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak) Fixture design or workholding fabrication experience Prototype and short-run production background Familiarity with a range of materials — aluminum, steel, stainless, titanium, plastics, exotics If you'd rather be judged by the quality of your work than the volume of your words, we should talk. Apply with your resume. If you have examples of complex parts you've programmed and run, we'd like to see them.
