CNC Programmer Job Description This role programs and sets up B-Axis lathes and 5-Axis CNC mill-turn machines to perform turning, drilling, milling, and part-complete operations. You will optimize setups, maximize machine utilization, and ensure all parts meet precise specifications and tolerances using modern CNC programming tools and techniques. Responsibilities Program and set up B-Axis lathes and 5-Axis CNC mill-turn machines to perform turning, drilling, milling, and part-complete operations. Optimize setup times and maximize machine utilization to improve overall productivity. Read and interpret blueprints, route instructions, and other technical documentation to understand job requirements and specifications. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure parts meet all specified dimensions and tolerances. Determine the sequence of machine operations and select appropriate cutting tools to machine workpieces into the desired shapes. Troubleshoot CNC programs and processes, making adjustments as needed to resolve issues and maintain quality. Set up CNC equipment to run full cycles for both high-volume and low-volume production, maintaining offsets and ensuring repeatability. Inspect parts with a high degree of precision using appropriate measuring equipment to verify conformance to specifications. Document machining procedures clearly and accurately for repeatability, process control, and continuous improvement. Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a safe, efficient, and quality-focused production environment. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of machining experience, including programming and setup of 5-axis machines. Minimum 2 years of CNC programming experience, preferably using GibbsCAM or Fusion 360. Hands-on experience programming and operating B-Axis lathes and 5-Axis CNC mill-turn machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, route instructions, and technical drawings. Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience with DMG Mori mill-turn and/or Brother multi-axis machines (preferred). Experience working with Siemens and/or Brother CNC controls. Strong knowledge of metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling. Proficiency with measuring equipment, including calipers and gauges. Ability to document machining procedures in a clear and organized manner. Strong troubleshooting skills for CNC programs, tooling, and machine setups. Solid understanding of CNC machining processes, including turning, milling, drilling, and multi-axis operations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a multi-axis CNC machining environment. Familiarity with high-precision machining and tight-tolerance work. Comfort working with both high-volume and low-volume production runs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented production environment. Organizational skills to manage multiple jobs, setups, and documentation effectively. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will work around CNC machinery, including B-Axis lathes and 5-Axis CNC mill-turn equipment, as well as DMG Mori and Brother multi-axis machines with Siemens and Brother controls. The role involves standing for extended periods, working near production equipment, and using precision measuring tools such as calipers and gauges. After conversion to full-time, uniforms are provided and color-coordinated by day of the week to align with the team's dress standards. Steel-toe footwear is required, and a voucher is offered to help purchase appropriate safety shoes. The environment emphasizes teamwork, safety, and consistent production workflows. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
