$24-$31/hour (based on experience)

Direct Hire Job Summary Sterling Engineering is partnering with a confidential manufacturing client in Henrico, VA to identify a skilled Machine Programmer / Set-Up professional. This role supports production operations by programming, setting up, and operating CNC and automated machinery used in the fabrication of aluminum and steel components with tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, adjust, and efficiently operate CNC and automated machines to perform complex machining operations with close tolerances Machine aluminum and some steel materials with varying dimensions, contours, and finish specifications Calculate and set machining parameters including speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut Maintain, edit, and optimize machine programs to improve efficiency and quality Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials Ensure accurate job tracking and documentation within production systems Follow safety, quality, and production standards consistently Required Experience & Qualifications Associate degree, completed apprenticeship, or equivalent technical education 2-3 years of experience in machine programming and set-up or a similar role Strong CNC programming knowledge Experience with CAD/CAM software Jetcam (laser programming software) experience preferred Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and instructions Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and make process improvements Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with supervisors and team members Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay: $24-$31/hour Medical, dental, and vision insurance options Life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off and paid sick time Tuition reimbursement opportunities Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
