Shift Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Numerical Control Programmer to support aerospace fabrication and machining operations. This role focuses on developing and optimizing CNC machining programs, creating setup documentation, validating machining strategies, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to deliver high-quality aerospace components. Roles & Responsibilities Included but not limited to: Develop, verify, and revise NC programs, machine control data, tooling geometry, and setup documentation for multi-axis CNC machining operations. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing specifications to create efficient machining solutions. Create machining strategies, multiple setups, and tooling plans for complex aerospace components. Utilize simulation and verification tools to validate programs and ensure collision-free machining operations. Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, engineering, and shop-floor personnel to improve producibility and reduce cycle times. Troubleshoot machining issues, support first-article inspections, and implement program revisions as needed. Maintain program documentation, revision control, and compliance with manufacturing requirements.
Required Qualification/Skills:
Associate's, BS degree or higher in a related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience. 3- 10+ years of NC programming experience in a production machining environment. Strong experience programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines. Proficiency with
CATIA V5 NC
Programming and Vericut simulation/verification software. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing documentation. Experience creating setup sheets, tooling documentation, and operator instructions.
Preferred Qualification/Skills:
Experience designing custom fixtures and tooling for complex machining operations. Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and first-article inspection requirements. Experience defining machining strategies and selecting appropriate manufacturing methods. Strong troubleshooting and process optimization skills focused on quality and efficiency improvements. Experience collaborating with planning, manufacturing engineering, and production teams. Familiarity with additional CAM software and aerospace machining environments.
