This role is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to produce high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate has strong machining knowledge, experience with conversational programming at the machine control, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced job shop environment supporting prototype and low-volume production. Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes using conversational programming at the machine control. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications to manufacture precision parts. Perform machine setups, tool changes, and work offset adjustments. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Monitor machining operations and adjust offsets as needed to maintain quality and dimensional accuracy. Troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operation. Support prototype and low-volume production projects in a fast-paced job shop environment. Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety procedures and standards. Qualifications Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Programmer, or similar manufacturing role. Proficiency with conversational programming at the machine control. Strong understanding of CNC mills and/or lathes, tooling, and machining processes. Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T. Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a job shop environment. High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
