Painter And Body Work

Job Summary The Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing metal and/or equipment components according to Fontaine quality standards. This role ensures products meet appearance, durability, and safety specifications while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming parts as required Mix and apply paint using spray guns or other approved equipment Paint truck bodies, components, frames, or industrial equipment to specification Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards, proper coverage, and color matching Touch up and rework painted parts as needed Maintain and clean paint booths, tools, and equipment Follow all safety procedures related to paint materials, chemicals, and equipment Accurately complete production and quality documentation Work collaboratively with production, welding, and assembly teams Meet productivity and quality goals while minimizing waste

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or equivalent Previous industrial or manufacturing painting experience preferred Ability to read work orders, paint specifications, and safety instructions Knowledge of basic surface preparation and spray-paint techniques Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Preferred:

Experience with HVLP or airless spray systems Familiarity with automotive or heavy-equipment painting Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to paint and chemicals Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Haleyville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.40 - $27.40/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
