Equipment Painter / Shop Assistant

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking individual to join our team in a dual‑role position as an Automotive Painter and Shop Assistant. This role involves both painting duties and general shop labor. We take pride in producing high‑quality machinery, and we expect every team member to approach their work with accuracy, care, and professionalism. Training will be provided. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparing equipment and components for paint, including sanding, grinding, masking, and cleaning Applying primer, paint, and finishes using proper automotive painting techniques Performing simple assembly tasks after paint, such as installing hardware, decals, or accessories Operating shop equipment to cut, bend, or clean parts Cleaning and prepping parts for fabrication or finishing General labor tasks such as saw work, parts cleaning, and shop cleanup Assisting with assembly of products and equipment as needed Performing basic maintenance on shop tools and equipment Operating a forklift Completing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ability to produce consistent, high‑quality work while meeting deadlines Experience or familiarity with automotive or industrial painting (preferred but not required; training available) Understanding of basic safety practices in a manufacturing or shop environment Reliable attendance and punctuality Basic knowledge of hand tools, air tools, power tools, and the ability to read a tape measure to 1/16" accuracy Ability to follow instructions and work well with othersAbout Diamond Steel Co.
