PALFINGER is searching for an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team at our Council Bluffs, IA location. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and applying high quality paint finishes to large truck bodies, assemblies and components. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Mix paint and other coatings according to specifications. Sand and prepare parts to ensure proper paint adhesion. Perform duties in a spray/paint booth while wearing a respirator and following safety protocols. Apply paint and coatings using a spray gun on assemblies and components. Deliver a cosmetically appealing paint finish on large truck bodies. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Previous experience in industrial painting or automotive painting preferred. Ability to work in spray booth environment and wear required PPE. Ability to periodically lift up to 100 lbs. and/or ability to operate hoist equipment for heavy lifting. Must be able to meet physicalmands such as standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, pushing/pulling for at least 90% of the work day. Ability to read and follow technical documents and safety gulines.
