Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Blaster/Painter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying protective coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces through precise painting techniques and surface preparation, contributing to the durability and aesthetic appeal of our clients' properties. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in construction painting, restoration, and surface finishing while working on diverse projects that make a real impact. Duties Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Use hand tools and power tools such as brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and scaffolding to apply paints, stains, and sealants accurately. Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and color schemes; interpret technical drawings for precise application. Perform residential and commercial painting tasks including interior walls, exteriors, trim carpentry, stucco finishes, masonry work, and renovation projects. Conduct surface repairs like patching holes or cracks using plastering techniques; handle fixture installation and restoration work as needed. Maintain safety standards on construction sites by following protocols for welding, scaffolding setup, and proper handling of hazardous materials. Assist with construction estimating by assessing project scope related to painting and surface preparation requirements. Operate various hand tools and power equipment efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines; ensure quality control throughout each phase of the project. Skills Extensive experience with construction site work including construction painting, renovation, restoration, and maintenance tasks. Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, color theory application, and understanding technical drawings. Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, scrapers, caulking guns; power tools including airless sprayers and welding equipment. Knowledge of diverse painting techniques including industrial painting, commercial painting, residential painting, airless paint spraying, and specialty coatings like stucco or masonry finishes. Strong background in construction estimating related to surface prep materials and paint quantities; familiarity with renovation processes. Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations accurately. Experience with carpentry disciplines such as trim carpentry and frame carpentry; knowledge of masonry and concrete finishing is a plus. Handyman experience is valuable for handling miscellaneous repair tasks on-site; familiarity with schematics for fixture installation or maintenance work is advantageous.
