$19.00/hr DOE Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to join our manufacturing team in Nampa. In this role, you will prepare products for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, etching, and staging a variety of materials to ensure high-quality finishes and efficient production flow. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship, follows safety procedures, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Prepare products for painting through cleaning, sanding, etching, masking, and staging. Work with a variety of materials including sheet metal, aluminum, steel, acrylic, wood, and sign foam. Apply coatings such as latex and spray paint as needed. Organize and stage work to support production schedules and workflow. Review job travelers and blueprints to ensure proper preparation requirements are met. Ensure all products are correctly labeled with job numbers and documentation. Maintain paint booths, mix rooms, filters, floors, and related equipment. Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and respiratory protection. Complete required safety documentation and follow all PPE requirements. Monitor inventory levels of paint supplies and notify leadership when replenishment is needed. Record labor and production activities accurately in company systems. Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S standards. Assist with general shop housekeeping, waste removal, and support other departments as needed. Participate in continuous improvement efforts and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. 1-3 years of paint preparation, finishing, or manufacturing experience preferred. Experience working with metals, plastics, wood, or similar materials is a plus. Experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job travelers. Basic computer skills for recording production activities. Skills & Requirements Knowledge of paint preparation techniques, coatings, and materials. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE. Must be able to pass respirator requirements and safely wear respiratory protection. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks. Physical Requirements Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Stand for extended periods throughout the shift. Frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull materials. Perform repetitive motions using hand and power tools. Work in an open manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, including heat, humidity, and cold. Work safely in a high-noise environment while wearing required hearing protection.
