Job Description

Purpose of Position:
The Paint Cleaning Technician at Moriroku Technology North America, an automotive manufacturer, is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment related to the paint process while following all MTNA safety policies and procedures, along with supporting the achievement of MTNA business goals. Essential Job Functions Maintain and repair paint mix room equipment (paint pumps, agitators, etc) Maintain and repair paint line air balance to produce good quality product Maintain and repair paint line equipment by cleaning to meet MTNA standards Calibrate and adjust painting equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality Adjust primer, base coat, and clear coat robot programs to achieve good part quality Operate Graphic User Interface to program vat assignments and make color change cycles to ensure proper part production to meet production schedules Ensure that all machines and systems are running according to the company's specifications and troubleshoot any deviations Prepare paint materials to support production schedule Perform preventive maintenance on painting equipment including spray guns, mixers, pumps, air compressors, conveyors, ventilation systems, and robotic systems Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues within the paint process Troubleshoot and resolve faults within the automated paint systems and related machinery to minimize production disruptions Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, maintenance repairs, and other maintenance activities, in accordance with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Automotive Task Force (IATF) standards Complete daily inspections of critical paint production equipment; escalation if deviation from standard condition is found Report on equipment condition and suggest long-term solutions for recurring issues Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating and maintaining paint systems Comply with environmental regulations, including proper disposal of paint materials, solvents, and other hazardous substances Maintain a clean and organized work environment to meet 5S ideologies Communicate effectively within the department to coordinate maintenance repairs and activities, in both written and verbal communication Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance costs Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements to optimize the painting process Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address process issues, improve efficiency, and reduce defects in the paint finish Experience and Knowledge Previous experience in related field or manufacturing environment strongly preferred Hands-on experience with robotic and automated painting systems is highly desirable Skills Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in paint systems Ability to work with precision equipment and maintain quality standards Familiarity with paint chemistry and its impact on the application process Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and software systems Mathematics knowledge to help determine paint usage Walking/standing for 8+ hours daily Repetitive motions (bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, lifting, etc.) Lifting up to 50 lbs. Strong written & communication skills Detail-oriented Willingness to work overtime during weekdays, weekends, and shutdowns when necessary Strong prioritization & decision making of tasks Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to determine root cause
