Job Description

Description SAIC has an opening for a Paint Shop Technician IV in Indianapolis, IN. This position will be 2nd shift, 3:00pm EST to 11:30pm
EST. JOB DUTIES
Perform sanding, blending, cleaning, masking, and other tasking related to the preparation of industrial parts for military coating finishes. Set up, maintain, and operate typical shop equipment such as paint mixers, HVLP paint guns, and paint booths. Apply primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats with correct formulations as per paint manufacturer specifications. Apply polyurethane, lacquers, epoxy paints, or dry lube coatings. Prepare surfaces for painting and protects surfaces from corrosion. Work as a team and individually towards a common goal and be able to communicate clearly. Prioritize paint booth schedule for 2 nd shift with advisement from split shift supervisor. Follow standard and common shop processes to perform work tasking but also be able to 'adapt and overcome' when appropriate. Follow ISO9000 and AS9100 standard processes and procedures. Job tracking, data entry, and paperwork as deemed necessary. Project scheduling and demands are fluid thus tasking may deviate when necessary. Follow corporate and local office policies and procedures including but not limited to; daily timecard recording and Email checks. Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School and eight (8) years or more of related experience.
KEY JOB DETAILS
Work week is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, 3pm to 11:30pm. Candidate resume must document a minimum of 8 years of working experience. Candidate resume must document a minimum of 4-6 years of painting type work or related/similar technician experience to qualify. Basic computer skills are a must (Logging in, Email, Timecard entry, Job tracking, etc.).
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be a United States Citizen Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance; New Hire employee will be required to submit background information necessary for security clearance evaluation.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Experience with mil spec and military coatings. Experience with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers. Some leadership or supervisor experience.
