Painting Contractors, Inc. is a New Bedford-based commercial and industrial painting and specialty coatings contractor. We deliver high-quality finishes on demanding projects, including schools, federal and municipal buildings, healthcare and infrastructure facilities, and industrial/defense work, and we are expanding our industrial coatings capability toward
SSPC/AMPP QP1/QP2
certification. We invest in our crews with the equipment, training, and a steady project pipeline to build long-term careers. We are hiring experienced Commercial/Industrial Painters to prep and apply coatings on a wide range of surfaces and systems. You work on interior and exterior commercial projects as well as industrial scopes, including epoxy and resinous floors, structural steel, FRP, and high-performance specialty coatings. Much of our work falls under prevailing wage (Davis-Bacon / MA DLS), with the pay and standards that come with it. Required Qualification 2+ years of commercial or industrial painting experience Proficiency with brush, roll, and airless spray application Comfortable working at heights and on lifts/scaffolding Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites across MA and RI Ability to pass a respirator fit test and follow site safety protocols Strong attention to detail and a quality-first work ethic Perform surface preparation: cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, masking, and abrasive prep (including shot blasting, grinding, and wet sandblasting on industrial scopes) Apply primers, paints, and coatings by brush, roller, and spray (airless and plural-component) Mix and apply epoxy/resinous floor systems and high-build industrial coatings to spec Read and work from project drawings, specifications, and product data sheets Set up and safely operate from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial/scissor lifts Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site and protect adjacent surfaces Inspect finished work for quality, coverage, and adhesion, and correct deficiencies Care for and maintain spray equipment, tools, and PPE https://jagpaintingcontractors.com/ OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30) certification Experience with epoxy/resinous flooring, FRP, or structural steel coatings Plural-component spray experience Aerial/scissor lift and harness certification

You should be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand and work on your feet for extended periods, climb ladders, work at heights and in lifts, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions while wearing required PPE, including a respirator. While every project is different, a typical day might include reviewing the day\'s scope and specifications with your supervisor, masking and protecting adjacent surfaces, prepping substrates, mixing and applying coatings to spec, and inspecting your work for coverage and finish quality before cleaning and storing equipment at the end of the shift.
