MARINE FINISHER/PAINT - FULL TIME

We are looking for experienced Marine Finishers who take pride in precision work and understand that the final finish defines the standard. This is an opportunity to work on high-end custom tenders in a professional shop environment alongside a skilled team that values quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Why Hodgdon? Four-day workweek (Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm) High-end custom marine projects Stable, year-round full-time work Competitive benefits package Work that reflects true craftsmanship Position Summary The Marine Finisher is responsible for surface preparation and application of high-quality marine finishes on vessels and related components. This includes fairing, sanding, spraying, varnishing, painting, and finishing both interior and exterior components to Hodgdon standards. Responsibilities Perform surface preparation including fairing, sanding, masking, and finish preparation Apply marine coatings including primers, epoxy systems, linear polyurethanes, varnishes, and specialty finishes Spray and finish hulls, decks, interior joiner work, and custom components Prepare and finish interior and exterior furniture and trim Operate spray equipment including conventional and HVLP systems Read and follow paint mixing formulas and finish specifications Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas Support and coordinate with other members of the finish team to meet production schedules Qualifications 3-5 years of marine finishing experience preferred Experience with Awlgrip or similar high-end marine coating systems strongly preferred High-end automotive paint and body experience will also be considered Strong spraying and surface preparation skills Understanding of proper safety procedures and PPE requirements Ability to work with epoxy systems and marine coatings Strong attention to detail and finish quality Reliable attendance and ability to work within production schedules Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, twist, and work overhead throughout the day Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to work in confined spaces when necessary Ability to wear a respirator Ability to lift and carry materials and tools as needed Schedule Generally Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm. Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required depending on production schedules. Pay Range:
$22 - $27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Hodgdon is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
