Work is primarily outside.
  • Applicants must be able to pass a US Customs background check to work on federal property
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting via scraping, grinding (steel), sandblasting.
  • Safely and efficiently make use of the various equipment used in preparing and spraying structural steel.
  • Accurately mix plural component industrial coatings and apply them in a timely manner.
  • Utilize hand grinding equipment for removing rust/scale from existing structural steel surfaces.
  • Be proficient in the use, cleaning, and maintenance of spray equipment.
  • Make full use of all Personal Protective Equipment gear (provided by employer) such as fall protection, hard hats, safety glasses, respiratory protection, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Painter or similar role.
  • Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation to shop every day in Flint.
Crews utilize company trucks to get to each job from there.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with the operation of various man-lift equipment.
  • Knowledge of various high-performance coatings.
  • Proficiency in using various painting tools and equipment.
  • Basic math skills .
  • Familiarity with construction painting methods.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
