Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Painter I to prepare, coat, and finish manufactured products using HVLP spray equipment. This role is responsible for surface preparation, paint mixing, coating application, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections to ensure finished products meet company standards. The ideal candidate has prior manufacturing painting experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under supervision in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces by applying liquid etching solutions and removing sharp edges from prior grinding Mix paints and hardeners according to specified ratios, adjusting for environmental factors such as humidity Fill and maintain pressure pots with appropriate paint or chemical mixtures Apply coatings to metal parts using HVLP spray guns, adjusting spray patterns for optimal coverage Monitor paint flow and viscosity and make adjustments as needed Inspect painted parts for surface defects such as bubbles, flaws, or inconsistencies Perform rework when necessary, including sanding, grinding, taping, masking, and Bondo application Paint machines and individual parts according to production schedules Conduct adhesion and quality checks to ensure coating integrity Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, and related equipment after each use Support inventory control by participating in cycle counts Assist with training new team members as needed Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Follow all safety procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required 1-5 years of painting experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred Experience with HVLP spray equipment strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Basic proficiency with hand and power tools Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard office equipment

Frequent use of fine motor skills and finger dexterity Regular verbal communication and hearing required Occasional standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds (waist level, distances up to 30 feet) Requires close vision and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
Manufacturing setting with exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and industrial elements Exposure to paint fumes and production equipment Must follow PPE and safety requirements at all times
