Job Description

Under general supervision, the Paint Prep Technician performs a variety of support duties within the Paint Department to prepare equipment and components for painting while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met.
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday, 8pm-4:30am.

Competitive pay Shift differential for off-shift positions Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and 10 paid holidays Essential Job Functions Clean, mask, sand, and prepare units and components for painting. Apply sanding primer using spray equipment in accordance with company standards. Unmask, clean, and prepare painted units for final assembly after the drying process is complete. Load spare parts and components onto completed units. Load and unload spare parts, tools, boom hose, and other materials from trucks and trailers. Move parts and components to final preparation areas, paint booths, and designated staging locations. Operate forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment as required. Inspect surfaces and components to ensure proper preparation prior to painting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and work instructions. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands Perform work on the production floor 100% of the time. Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday. Work in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to paint, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Education, Skills & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in paint preparation, auto body repair, industrial painting, or a related manufacturing environment. Experience sanding, masking, detailing, and preparing surfaces for paint application. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to read and follow work instructions, processes, and safety procedures. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment. Certified forklift operator or ability to successfully complete Schwing forklift training. Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environment preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
