Agricultural Sprayer Operator (experience required)

Job Overview:

The Agricultural Sprayer Operator is responsible for operating sprayer equipment to apply chemicals and fertilizers to crops during the spring and summer seasons. In addition to sprayer operation, this role will involve maintaining the sprayers and other agricultural equipment. Off-season duties will include shop work, such as equipment maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate must be adaptable, willing to obtain an applicator's license, and able to change tasks as needed to meet company needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Sprayer Operation:

Operate agricultural sprayers to apply chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to crops as per company guidelines.

Equipment Maintenance:

Perform regular inspections and maintenance on sprayer equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Troubleshoot and repair minor issues as needed.

License & Certification:

Obtain and maintain a state applicator's license within the first month of employment.

Seasonal Flexibility:

Adapt to varying job duties during the off-season, including equipment repair and maintenance in the shop.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure all work is performed according to safety protocols, environmental guidelines, and company standards.

Additional Tasks:

Assist with other tasks as directed by the supervisor to support overall operations and business needs.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus). Must be willing to obtain and maintain an applicator's license Experience operating agricultural machinery is preferred. Strong mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be adaptable and willing to change tasks as necessary to meet company needs.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to sit for long periods while operating machinery. Ability to perform manual labor, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.

Job Type:

Full-time Pay:

$24.00 - $30.00 per hour
