Position Summary Davcor Aviation Services is currently seeking experienced Aircraft Painters to support commercial aircraft maintenance and paint operations in Kansas City, MO. This position is responsible for preparing aircraft surfaces, applying primers and finish coatings, and ensuring all paint work is completed in accordance with customer specifications, FAA requirements, and company quality standards. The ideal candidate will have previous aircraft painting experience and a strong understanding of aircraft paint preparation, application techniques, and safety procedures. Key Responsibilities Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and protecting areas not designated for paint Apply primers, topcoats, polyurethane, epoxy, synthetic enamel, and other approved coatings using spray equipment, brushes, and rollers Remove and replace masking materials as required throughout the paint process Apply decals, placards, safety markings, registration markings, lettering, striping, and other aircraft graphics Read and interpret aircraft paint drawings, specifications, and work instructions Ensure FAA-required markings, placards, warnings, and customer-specific requirements are accurately applied Mix, match, and prepare paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications Wash, clean, polish, and perform final finish work on aircraft exteriors as required Clean, inspect, and maintain spray guns, paint booths, and other painting equipment Maintain accurate work order documentation, labor records, and material usage records Follow all FAA, OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements Support overtime, weekend work, and schedule flexibility as required by operational demands Qualifications Required Minimum three (3) years of aircraft painting experience Knowledge of aircraft paint preparation, application techniques, and finishing processes Experience applying primers, topcoats, polyurethane, epoxy, and synthetic enamel coatings Ability to mix and match paint colors and finishes Ability to read and interpret paint drawings, technical manuals, and work instructions Knowledge of proper paint equipment maintenance and care Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to work safely around hazardous materials, chemicals, and paint fumes while wearing required PPE Ability to communicate effectively in English regarding work activities and safety requirements Preferred Previous Commercial MRO experience Familiarity with FAA Part 91, Part 121, and Part 145 maintenance environments Experience painting ground support equipment (GSE) Working knowledge of ATA Chapters and aircraft zones Experience applying aircraft decals, placards, striping, and stenciling Experience working on Boeing and Airbus aircraft Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and work in confined spaces for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work from ladders, maintenance stands, and elevated platforms Ability to wear respirators, protective clothing, and other required PPE Ability to work around paint fumes, solvents, and industrial coatings while following all safety procedures Why Work for Davcor Aviation Services?
