Mitchell Signs is a custom sign company that takes pride in building high-quality signage from the ground up. We believe in craftsmanship, teamwork, and delivering a final product we can all be proud of. We are currently looking for a Paint Prep Technician to join our growing team. J ob
Summary:
This is primarily a paint prep position focused on getting parts and signage ready for paint. The right person will have the opportunity to grow into a painter's role over time. If you are dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanding, cleaning, and prepping metal, plastic, and other sign components for paint. Masking and taping parts for paint application. Assisting with primer application and moving parts through the paint process. Performing minor surface repairs and filling as needed. Inspecting prepped parts for quality before painting. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized prep area. Following safety procedures and proper handling of tools and chemicals. Supporting other shop tasks when needed. Opportunities for

This role has a clear path to becoming a painter with hands-on training provided for motivated employees.
Qualifications:
Experience in sanding, masking, or working in a paint prep environment is preferred. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. Strong attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. A positive attitude and ability to work well with the team.
