As a Surface Reconditioner , you are the specialist who brings tired, damaged, or imperfect vehicle surfaces back to life. From partial to complete paint removal, your expertise prepares each vehicle for a flawless transformation and sets the stage for paint excellence. This role is ideal for detail-driven professionals who understand that great paint begins with exceptional surface prep .

Your Mission:

Assess vehicles to identify surface damage and paint reconditioning needs. Recondition metal, plastic, and glass surfaces following company procedures and quality standards. Sand and prepare vehicle surfaces to ensure proper adhesion of paint products. Remove old paint, surface rust, and debris using the appropriate tools and techniques. Mask vehicle areas to protect surfaces during sanding and reconditioning. Operate DA sanders and other surface prep equipment safely and effectively. Remove tags, racks, emblems, decals, and accessories as needed. Apply proper surface preparation techniques to minimize material usage and dust transference. Read and understand repair orders to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Work within allotted production times while maintaining quality standards. Move vehicles safely throughout the facility. Limit supply usage and maintain cost-conscious production practices. Keep workspaces clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols. Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

What We're Looking For:

Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive paint, surface reconditioning, or a related field. Must be 18 years or older . Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for color and color matching . Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

Frequently lift, carry, and manipulate up to 50 lbs. ; occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, standing, walking, and repetitive motion. Exposure to paint, fumes, dust, chemicals, toxins, varying temperatures, and intermittent noise. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required .
