Position Overview Bodywork Technicians are responsible for safely and efficiently completing all surface preparation for painting. These tasks require manual dexterity, great attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and efficiently, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Apply various fillers, puttees, and glazes to bring complex surfaces to specified finish Perform precision sanding on complex surfaces to meet designated finish standards Block sand surfaces to specified finish Machine sand surfaces to specified finish Perform repairs on composite surfaces including recreating complex geometries Mask and clean surfaces in preparation for coating applications Maintain a well organized and professional workstation Maintain tools and equipment used in the bodywork process Manage use of consumable supplies Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency certificate General proficiency using hand tools General knowledge and understanding of job specific tools and materials 1+ years of experience working in a bodywork role in the automotive, marine or aerospace industries Ability to execute work instructions and meet production schedule expectations Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment Ability to document workflow and communicate effectively Ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred Skills and Experience Attention to detail Willingness to learn Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity Ability to use precision measuring instruments 2+years of experience working in a bodywork role in the automotive, marine or aerospace industries 1+ years of experience painting in the in the automotive, marine or aerospace industries 1+ years experience working with composites Additional Requirements Ability to lift 50lb unassisted Ability to work on ladders and in confined spaces Willing to work extended hours as needed Compensations, Schedule, and Benefits Pay range:
