Flexstaff Forest Park, OH Job Details $21 - $26 an hour 8 hours ago Qualifications Measurement-based inspection Quality control product testing Abrasive blasting Industrial equipment Sandblasting Visual inspection for quality control Full Job Description Sand Blast Technician Job Description A Sand Blast Technician is responsible for preparing, cleaning, and finishing surfaces by operating sandblasting equipment to remove rust, paint, scale, corrosion, and other contaminants from metal, concrete, and other materials. The technician ensures surfaces meet quality standards for coating, painting, or further processing while maintaining a safe work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces. Select appropriate blasting media and equipment settings based on job requirements. Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality standards are met. Remove rust, paint, corrosion, scale, and other surface contaminants. Prepare parts and materials for painting, coating, or finishing processes. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment. Monitor equipment performance and report mechanical issues. Follow safety procedures regarding hazardous materials, dust control, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain production records and complete required documentation. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. Required Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in sandblasting, industrial painting, manufacturing, or surface preparation preferred. Knowledge of abrasive blasting equipment and techniques. Ability to read work orders, specifications, and production schedules. Familiarity with measuring tools and quality inspection processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials as required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
