Spray Technician

Job Title:

Spray Technician Job Description Operate or tend to powder coating and/or liquid painting equipment to paint surfaces of equipment. Load and unload the overhead conveyor and ensure the cleanliness of machines, related equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids. Responsibilities Turn dials, hand wheels, valves, or switches to regulate conveyor speeds, machine temperatures, air pressure, circulation, and the flow or spray of coatings or paints. Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections. Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects or deviations from standards and make adjustments as necessary. Fill hoppers, reservoirs, troughs, or pans with materials used to coat, paint, or spray, using conveyors or pails. Start pumps to mix solutions and fill tanks. Meet expected productivity goals. Assist and cross-train in other areas of the production line, as needed. Produce quality products by completing and thoroughly inspecting all paint applied. Examine, measure, weigh, and/or test sample products. Perform all other duties, as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in spray painting, spray gun operation, auto body paint, powder coating, and paint booth techniques. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and technical data sheets. Capability to lift 50 pounds unassisted. At least 1 year of experience utilizing spraying tools and equipment. Attention to detail and experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to wear a respirator and other protective equipment for up to 10 hours. Ability to work in a confined space at warm temperatures. Capability to work with a diverse culture to improve processes, quality, and safety. Work Environment Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with a team of 15 to 20 people in Bristol and over 50 people in Rumford. Normal 8-hour shifts, from 5am to 1:30pm, in a facility that prioritizes safety and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Providence, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
