In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing metal and structural components used in airport infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience with industrial coatings, surface preparation, and spray equipment , and takes pride in producing high-quality, durable finishes that meet strict industry standards. Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation Clean, sand, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for painting Remove rust, grease, and contaminants to ensure proper coating adhesion Mask and protect areas not to be painted Painting & Coating Apply coatings using spray guns, rollers, or brushes Mix paints, primers, and coatings to proper specifications Apply industrial coatings, primers, and finishes to metal parts and structural components Ensure even coverage, correct thickness, and high-quality finish Inspection & Quality Control Inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, drips, or inconsistencies Measure coating thickness using gauges when required Perform touch-ups and rework as needed to meet quality standards Equipment & Safety Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools Follow all safety procedures , including proper use of PPE (respirators, gloves, eye protection) Comply with environmental and hazardous material handling guidelines General Duties Assist with material handling and staging of parts for painting Maintain a clean and organized work area Support production goals and deadlines Required Qualifications 1-3+ years of industrial painting experience (manufacturing or metal environment preferred) Experience with spray painting equipment and coating applications Knowledge of surface preparation techniques (sanding, blasting, cleaning) Ability to read and follow basic work instructions or specifications Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with structural steel or metal fabrication painting Familiarity with industrial coating systems (epoxy, polyurethane, powder coating, etc.) Experience using coating thickness gauges or inspection tools Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs . Frequent standing, bending, and reaching Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment Comfortable wearing PPE, including respirators, for extended periods Work Environment Manufacturing / shop setting Exposure to paint fumes, chemicals, and industrial equipment Moderate to high noise levels
