What you'll be doing as a Painter Aircraft & Maintenance A Applies dope, lacquer, paint, and other finishing material to finish or refinish aircraft, equipment, and facilities.
- Prepares surfaces for painting by removing all foreign substances, removes old or chipped paint.
- Masks surfaces not to be painted.
- Applies primers and fillers and rubs intermediate coats to assure smooth and uniforms coating to avoid streaks and blemishes.
- Must be able to match colors for spot or repair jobs.
- May prepare and mix paints to desired colors and consistencies.
- Polishes final coat with wax or polishing compound.
- Does rework as required.
- Performs lettering with stencils. Skills you bring to this role Paints, primers, lacquers, enamels, varnishes, and thinners.
- Spray guns, pressure pots, air hoses, rollers and brushes.
- Templates, trammel points, rules and measuring tapes, and stencil cutting machines, etc.
Qualifications What you need to be successful Three (3) years' experience as an Aircraft Painter. This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of
