POWDER COAT TECH

Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the quality and durability of painted surfaces on trailers. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying powder paint, and conducting inspections to maintain high standards. Additionally, you will contribute to the cleanliness and safety of the work environment & fuel the growth & success of the team.
Responsibilities:
Prepares surfaces to be painted, which may include removing prior finishes through chemicals, grit blast, or other methods. Calibrating spray equipment to ensure proper application. Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using a paint gun. Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects hardware, trim, and other non-painted surfaces. Perform inspections of finished paint jobs. Maintain a clean work area by properly storing tools and paint products and disposing of waste materials according to regulations. To remove rust, scale, dirt, debris, grease and other contaminants on the surface of the metal of the trailers To blast certain C surfaces on certain models of trailers
Qualifications:
Prolonged periods of standing and painting, while wearing a hazmat suit. Frequent exposure to odor, noise, dust, heat, cold and airborne particles. Ability to read and follow manuals, work orders and trailer specifications to meet quality standards. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to distinguish among colors. Completion of a formal painting apprenticeship program, previous experience, or on-the-job training preferred. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
