Experienced Powder Coat Applicator Alamo Crosslink Powder Coating San Antonio, TX Job Details Full-time 16 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Qualifications Forklift Powder coating Full Job Description Experienced Powder Coat Applicator Alamo Crosslink Powder Coating — San Antonio, TX We are looking for an experienced shooter who already knows how to apply powder in a production shop environment. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who understands surface prep, grounding, coverage, film build, edges, corners, Faraday areas, rework prevention, and how to keep production moving without sacrificing quality. We powder coat a wide range of metal products, including gates, fences, handrails, awnings, shade structures, architectural components, automotive parts, furniture, and industrial steel/aluminum parts. Responsibilities Apply powder coating to steel and aluminum parts using professional powder coating equipment Spray parts evenly with proper coverage, including edges, welds, corners, inside areas, and hard-to-reach spots Recognize and avoid common coating defects such as light coverage, heavy build, orange peel, back ionization, contamination, and poor grounding Work with primers, topcoats, textured powders, wrinkles, hammertones, metallics, and two-coat systems when required Help inspect parts before and after coating Communicate problems with prep, masking, hanging, grounding, powder, or part condition before coating Work with the production team to keep jobs moving through the shop efficiently Maintain a clean and organized spray area Follow safety procedures and wear required PPE Requirements Previous powder coating shooting experience required Must be able to spray production work, not just small hobby parts Must understand proper grounding and powder application technique Must be able to stand, bend, reach, lift, and work around large metal parts Must be dependable and show up on time Must be able to work in a hot shop environment Must take pride in quality and be willing to fix mistakes when needed Forklift experience is a plus Sandblasting or metal prep experience is a plus Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required Work Schedule Full-time position Monday through Friday Day shift Overtime may be available depending on workload Pay Experienced shooters who can prove they know the trade will be paid accordingly. Starting pay depends on experience. Higher pay available for proven powder coating experience. Please include your requested pay rate in your response.
