Tankline and Aircraft Painter Specialist - SAMC (4992)
Company:
Boeing Aerospace Operations Boeing Global Services (BGS) is looking for an Tankline and Aircraft Painter Specialist to join our SAMC back shop team in San Antonio, TX. This position requires the candidate to mix paint, work with chemicals, preparation work to prep the parts for paint application, work closely with other team members and the ability to work with others and share responsibilities The successful candidate will have the ability to search and read the specifications in the DPS and engineering drawings to complete assignments.
Position Responsibilities:
Coat surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper Smooth surface with sandpaper and steel wool, roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface Mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted, and paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils Search and read the specifications in DPS engineering drawings Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): 1+ years of experience painting aircraft or aircraft parts 1+ years of experience sanding, taping, mixing materials for the application of paint Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 1+ years of experience working on military and commercial aircraft platforms 1+ years of experience working with hazardous materials Prior experience as a painter and/or tankline specialist
