Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Coating Applicator is responsible for preparing and applying various coatings—such as powder and liquid epoxy—to parts and products in accordance with safety, quality, and work order specifications. Job Description As a general rule, employees start out at level one within their respective job position/classification. As new skills are acquired and requirements are satisfied, the employee can progress through the levels until they reach level three or are promoted/transferred to a different job position/classification. A team leader at any of the three levels will have additional responsibilities. All employees must follow 5S and TPM procedures. Coating Applicator - Level One Mix multi-part paints and fill powder coating pot. Clean the wet paint and powder coating equipment. Demonstrate the ability to operate 8-wheel BCT. Assist in the loading and unloading products from preheat and curing oven. Follow all safety guidelines when using hazardous materials. Coating Applicator - Level Two Perform all of the duties of a level one Coating Applicator. Operate the electronic and magnetic paint gauges. Properly record DFT readings on the correct forms. Paint parts using liquid-epoxy based paint. Paint parts using fusion bonded epoxy equipment. Coating Applicator - Level Three Perform all of the duties of a level two Coating Applicator. Operate the wet paint and powder coating equipment proficiently. Select the correct type of coating to apply by following instructions from the shop work order. Apply the correct coating thickness based on the coating and application requirements. Apply non-standard coatings on products.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience in industrial painting, coating application, or similar field preferred Familiarity with different types of coatings and application methods Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as work orders, specifications, and safety guidelines Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, lifting, bending, exposure to fumes)
