Job Description:

Star Lift, together with our nonprofit Stairlift for Vets , is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Shop Hand to assist with stairlift and vertical platform lift (VPL) assembly/configuration/refurbishment, shop organization, and general maintenance. This is a hands-on role with real impact. You'll be helping support both our private clients and our mission to serve U.S. veterans in need of mobility solutions. Stairlift for Vets provides donated and low-cost stairlifts to veterans and their families across the region. As a Shop Hand, you'll work under both Star Lift and Stairlift for Vets , contributing to both sides of our work: private installation services and nonprofit operations for veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble stairlifts and VPL units, including Acorn 130, Acorn 180, Brooks 130, Bruno 3000, Bruno 3050, Bruno 2010, and various Savaria and Bruno VPLs (as needed) Cut and measure stairlift rails accurately Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and showroom Organize parts inventory and assist with staging units for field techs Maintain company vehicles and work vans (basic cleaning, inspection, restocking) Perform light carpentry tasks as needed Support field techs and operational needs across both the Star Lift and Stairlift for Vets programs

Qualifications:

Mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience in a workshop or trades setting Ability to read measurements and safely use saws and power tools Strong attention to detail and pride in a clean, efficient shop Able to lift up to 80 pounds and stand for extended periods Light carpentry experience is a plus Valid driver's license preferred Why Work With Us?
