Growth opportunities Relaxed atmosphere On-the-job training We are currently in need of a Hardware Associate to help us keep our growing customer base happy and satisfied. Our organization is looking for an associate to support our team. Successful candidates will need above all a positive attitude, a motivated and self-starting nature, the ability and desire to learn a variety of subjects, and the ability to communicate well with customers. A working knowledge of power equipment, experience with equipment/product assembly, or hardware retail is a major plus. A typical day will include cashier duties, including ringing up customers, writing repair tickets, and writing rental contracts. As you progress and learn you may also be cutting keys, selling Stihl power equipment, selling parts and accessories, giving demonstrations, assembling power equipment and grills, as well as maintaining the organization and cleanliness of our store. The more you learn to do, the farther you will go in our organization. This is also a good opportunity to work in a store that can grow with you. When you join our team at Lowcountry True Value, we take your input into consideration when we make improvements to the store. We are working on reorganizing, updating, and renovating work areas. We have the ability to implement employee ideas and alter the way we do things, as we don't have corporate oversight.

Compensation:

Pay scale starts at $16 per hour

Daily Responsibilities:

Running Registers Writing Equipment Repair Tickets Writing Rental Contracts Helping customers with a variety of needs Power Equipment Sales and support Parts and accessory sales and support Keeping a clean and organized work area Constantly building knowledge to provide excellent customer service Help store staff with other tasks as needed

Qualifications:

A positive attitude and a helpful nature Willingness to continually expand knowledge of products Friendly and polite attitude Valid Driver's License Ability to work with computers for parts lookup Ability to communicate effectively with customers Able to lift and handle products of varying weights (up to 80lb) Experience with hardware and power equipment is a major plus

Goals:

Become exceptional at running registers and helping customers solve their problems. Continually expand knowledge of hardware and power equipment. Help to Improve store areas and practices to work as efficiently and effectively as possible. Be able to help customers both in person and over the phone with a variety of issues.
