Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
  • Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
  • Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
  • Assist assigned project lead with field assignments
  • Install, program, and maintain protection and control relays and devices
  • Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
  • 0-3 years' experience in a controls technician or similar role
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
  • Experience with AC and DC systems
  • Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to office location.
  • 0 - 3 years of related experience.
  • Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing protection and control systems.
  • These systems are used to monitor protection systems in power substations.
  • Technicians must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles as well as computer skills.
  • They use this knowledge to install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
Computer skills:
  • Basic AC & DC electrical system understanding and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with electrical industry / equipment
  • Ability to read/ interpret electrical blueprint/schematic drawings
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Must provide and wear EH footwear and 100% cotton clothing at all times while working in substation environment.
Pay:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
