EMS Senior Technician
STRUCTION SOLUTIONS

Support the design and review process for HVAC controls and project submittals. Analyze utility data and energy consumption to help identify schools suitable for recommissioning and retro-commissioning projects. Evaluate EMS (Energy Management System) data, energy usage, and alarm reports to identify cost-effective energy-saving opportunities. Assess EMS data and alarms to recommend preventive maintenance strategies. Conduct on-site inspections to verify existing conditions and as-built documentation for identified projects. Implement practical, low-cost, or no-cost solutions to address EMS system issues at school sites. Diagnose and resolve basic issues related to HVAC mechanical systems, electrical components, and control systems. Address and resolve basic warranty service calls. Perform calibration of systems using standard electronic test equipment. Assist in coordinating and managing in-house commissioning projects. Carry out additional responsibilities as required.Required Experience:
At least three (3) years of professional experience in building controls or a closely related field. Proficiency in computer networking principles, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Ability to wire, commission, and diagnose basic HVAC maintenance issues effectively. Solid foundational knowledge of HVAC systems and their operations within facilities.Required Education:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Computer Science, Electrical, or Information Technology) from an accredited college or university, OR Two-year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics-related studies, supplemented by an additional two years of relevant experience as a substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with various controls manufacturers such as Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane. Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and resolving installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases. Proven track record of supporting installation teams and contractors on project sites.
