Automation and Process Controls Technician Company Overview:
The Equipment Hub is America's leading machine tool dealer of used metalworking equipment. We specialize in the buying, selling, repairing, and auctioning of CNC and manual machining and fabrication equipment. As the Automation and Process Controls Technician, you will be involved in the troubleshooting and repair of machinery our acquisition team has purchased. The majority of work will be related to fixing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components on both CNC and manual machinery. Some examples of equipment you would be working on are CNC vertical machining centers, CNC lathes, CNC Plasmas, CNC lasers, lathes, milling machines, press brakes, saws, shears, welders, ironworkers, and presses. The majority of work will be done on-site at our facility in Decatur, GA. Occasionally there will be times you will need to travel to work on equipment with issues that are still covered under our warranty. Between the massive variance in brands and types of machinery, no day is ever the same.Job Responsibilities:
Strong technical background to help troubleshoot and eliminate tough problems, as well as implement new solutions. Comfortable troubleshooting code for PLC application in ladder logic, function block or structured text. Evaluate and troubleshoot facility and manufacturing control systems consisting of PLCs, VFD's, computer controls, HMI interfaces, as well as controls and process instrumentation. Troubleshoot or modify existing PLC programs and make system hardware recommendations to resolve operation problems, improve processes, to support factory initiatives and continuous improvement. Disassemble, repair and rebuild machine tool sub assemblies and assemblies. Work with AC and DC electrical systems, relay logic, PLC programming and electronics. Identify, repair or replace damaged components. Utilize machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine issues Maintaining a very clean and organized work environment.Minimum Qualification Requirements:
5+ years related experience as an Automation and Controls Technician. 2+ years of experience in a machine installation, maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of experience and schooling. Advanced understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics; ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs, as required Ability to meet physical requirements of the jobProfessional Skills:
